Change is inevitable

Change is something none of us can avoid, no matter how hard we might try!

As we emerge from lockdown we’re focusing on the future.

COVID-19 has certainly had a big impact on the ways we work.

What will you do now to reset?

Here’s some of what we’ve been considering:

  • what to preserve or reinstate from ‘the before times’,
  • what is best left in the past,
  • the shape (structure) and feel (culture) for the business in the future, and
  • the steps to take to get there.

  1. What can continue as it is now?
  2. What needs to stop?
  3. What will we do more?
  4. What will we do less?
  5. What will we start?

Looking at your work through this lens can be very productive.

If change feels like a bit too much to think about, just focus on one aspect

Here are some likely answers to those questions if we use meetings as an example:

  1. We will continue to meet regularly.
  2. Freeform, endless, ad-hoc meetings with the same action list each time.
  3. Meet with an agenda and document the actions.
  4. Meeting when there’s no clear need.
  5. Use technology to prepare agendas.
